Asthakind Syrup contains bromhexine, guaifenesin and terbutaline. In pregnancy, it is not considered a first-line safe cough medicine. Terbutaline is the main concern because it can increase heart rate and cause tremors, and is generally avoided unless clearly prescribed by a doctor for a specific need. Bromhexine and guaifenesin also have limited safety data in pregnancy and are usually used only if a doctor feels the benefits outweigh the risks. Short-term use may be allowed in some cases, especially in later pregnancy, but only under direct medical supervision. It is best to consult your gynaecologist before taking it, even for a few days, so a safer alternative can be chosen if needed.
