It’s never a good idea to lose weight fast. It is completely unhealthy. Weight loss should be a gradual process.

There are many side effects of losing a lot of weight too quickly according to experts. Your intestine is used to digesting a certain amount of food. When you drastically decrease food intake, your saliva levels drop and your digestive system gets affected. The most common side effects of losing weight too quickly are: –

- Headache and Mood Swings
These side effects are subjective to the individual’s body and on the calorie deficit that occurred during the weight loss process. Your metabolism also takes a toll which is an unhealthy sign. Your body eventually starts oxidizing fats and breaking down even muscles that convert energy into usable energy. This is only good for supplying you with energy in the short term. But in the long term, this is going to cause havoc to your body giving rise to other health complications.
How Much Weight is it fine to lose?
There is no such thing as a safe amount of weight to lose. Like we said, losing weight should be very gradual. Here are a few tips on losing weight: –

- Aim for losing 5-10% of your body weight in a three month period. More than that is going to cause significant issues to your overall health.
- Consult your doctor before any major diet shift. Ask them for their recommendation and feedback before you set your diet goals.
- If you do feel fatigue, dizziness, decreased energy or swelling of the body, etc this will put you at increased risk of developing other chronic conditions.
Losing too much weight can be dangerous to your health. Also, weight loss depends on other factors such as your sleep cycle, stress levels, lifestyle and other daily activities besides the foods that you eat. Don’t get caught up in all these processes. Make sure that you eat the right foods and set realistic goals to have a healthy weight loss.
