Domstoap Syrup is used to treat nausea and vomiting in adults and adolescents 12 years or older. Besides this, it also helps treat indigestion. It contains Domperidone, which prevents nausea and vomiting by blocking certain receptors (such as dopamine and serotonin) that stimulate the vomiting centre in the brain. It also increases the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and helps decrease gastric emptying time. The most common side effect of this medicine is dry mouth.

Dry Mouth

Here are the steps to Dry Mouth (xerostomia) caused by medication:

Inform your doctor about dry mouth symptoms. They may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep your mouth moist and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
Chew sugar-free gum or candies to increase saliva production and keep your mouth moisturized.
Use saliva substitutes, such as mouthwashes or sprays, only if your doctor advises them to help moisturize your mouth and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Domstoap Syrup may interact with medicines used to treat heart problems or high blood pressure (e.g. amiodarone, dronedarone, quinidine, disopyramide, dofetilide, sotalol, diltiazem, verapamil), depression (e.g. citalopram, escitalopram), anti-cancer agents (e.g. toremifene, vandetanib, vincamine), bacterial infections (e.g. specifically erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin, moxifloxacin, pentamidine), gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride), antimalarial (e.g. halofantrine), neuro related medicines (e.g. haloperidol, pimozide, sertindole), antifungal (e.g. ketoconazole, fluconazole, voriconazole), gastrointestinal drugs (e.g. cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride) and anti HIV drugs.

Drug-Food Interactions: Domstoap Syrup may interact with grapefruit juice, alcohol, and tobacco. This may affect the efficacy of Domstoap Syrup. So, a Domstoap Syrup should not be taken along with them.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Caution should be exercised while using Domstoap Syrup in patients with heart, kidney, liver disease, brain tumours, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, or any problem involving the bowels.
