Rubired Suspension is used to treat iron deficiency anaemia and nutritional deficiencies. It helps in the production of red blood cells and the transportation of oxygen to body tissues. It prevents and treats folate deficiency (low blood levels of folate). Also, it helps in the proper functioning of the brain and nerves. It may cause side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach upset. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

  • Having a small meal before taking your medication can help reduce nausea and vomiting.
  • Talk to your doctor about taking anti-nausea medication along with your prescribed medication.
  • Managing Vomiting (If it Happens)
  • Try taking ginger in the form of tea, ale, or candy to help alleviate nausea and vomiting.
  • What to Do if Vomiting Persists
  • Consult your doctor if vomiting continues or worsens, consult the doctor for guidance on adjusting your medication or additional treatment.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Rubired Suspension is known to interact with medicines used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (penicillamine, sulfasalazine), blood cholesterol (cholestyramine), Parkinson's disease (levodopa, carbidopa), thyroid disease (thyroxine), bone disease (bisphosphonates), certain cancers (aminopterin, methotrexate), malaria (pyrimethamine), Wilson's disease (trientine), antibiotics (cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol, tetracyclines).

Drug-Food Interactions: Rubired Suspension should not be taken along with alcohol, dairy products, and eggs, as it might affect Rubired Suspension absorption in the body.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Rubired Suspension is known to interact with certain conditions, including a history of stomach ulcers, vitamin B12 deficiency, blood disorders, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), anaemia, or folate deficiency.

How does the drug interact with Rubired Suspension 150 ml:
Co-administration of cyanocobalamin, ferrous ascorbate and folic acid with fluorouracil may increase the risk of side effects such as anemia, bleeding problems, and infections.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between cyanocobalamin, ferrous ascorbate, folic acid and fluorouracil, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, consult a doctor if you experience weakness, dizziness, fainting, unusual bleeding or bruising, blood in the stools, fever, chills, or body aches. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Rubired Suspension 150 ml:
Co-administration of cyanocobalamin, ferrous ascorbate and folic acid with capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, and infections.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is an interaction between cyanocobalamin, ferrous ascorbate, folic acid and Capecitabine, they can be taken together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, fever, chills, body aches, or mouth ulcers or sores, contact a doctor. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
