The detailed uses of Racika 100mg Tablet are as follows: <br/>• Diarrhea: Racika 100mg Tablet is commonly prescribed to treat acute diarrhea, by providing symptomatic relief.<br/>• Rehydration: Racika 100mg Tablet helps in rehydration by reducing the frequency and amount of stool output, thereby minimizing the loss of water and essential salts (electrolytes) from the body. This helps maintain fluid balance and supports the body's natural hydration processes.<br/>• Reduction of Gastrointestinal Secretions: Racika 100mg Tablet works by decreasing water and electrolyte secretion in the intestines, aiding in controlling diarrhea.<br/>
Medicinal Benefits:
Racika 100mg Tablet belongs to a group of medications called 'antidiarrheal' used to treat symptoms of acute (short-term) diarrhoea in infants and children over 3 months of age. Racika 100mg Tablet contains 'Racecadotril', a prodrug (inactive form) that gets converted into 'thiorphan' (active form), which reduces the watery secretions produced by the intestine. It helps in decreasing the loss of fluid from the body, thus reducing the symptoms of diarrhoea and the risk of dehydration.

To compensate for the fluid loss due to your child's diarrhoea, Racika 100mg Tablet should be given along with adequate replacement of fluid and electrolytes/salts such as ORS (oral rehydration solution). However, consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
