About Albomar Suspension

Albomar Suspension is an anti-parasite medicine used to treat different parasitic infections in children. Parasitic infections are diseases caused by parasites (micro-organisms) that live in or on another host/organism. Albomar Suspension is used in treating infections of the roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, and flukes caused by parasites. It is also used to treat neurocysticercosis (infection caused by pork tapeworm) and cystic hydatid disease (infection caused by dog tapeworm).

Albomar Suspension contains Albendazole as an active ingredient belonging to the class of benzimidazole drugs. It works by inhibiting tubulin polymerisation, causing metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, leading to immobilization. This eventually leads to the death of susceptible helminths and thus prevents the growth of parasitic infections.

Albomar Suspension may cause certain side effects in your child, such as indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, metallic taste, vomiting, headache, and stomach pain. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your pediatrician. Albomar Suspension should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give the child more than the prescribed dose of Albomar Suspension . Generally, the dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection.

The detailed uses of Albomar Suspension are as follows: •Treating Intestinal Worm Infections: Albomar Suspension is commonly prescribed to combat various intestinal worm infections, such as those caused by roundworms and hookworms. •Managing Neurocysticercosis: Albomar Suspension effectively treats neurocysticercosis, a central nervous system condition resulting from the larval stage of the pork tapeworm (Taenia solium). •Treatment of Echinococcosis: Albomar Suspension is also used to address echinococcosis, an infection caused by Echinococcus granulosus, which leads to cyst formation in organs like the liver or lungs. •Alternative Management of Giardiasis: Though not the primary treatment, Albomar Suspension can be an alternative for managing giardiasis, an intestinal infection caused by the Giardia lamblia parasite.

Stomach Pain

Drink water or other clear fluids.
To prevent worsening of pain, limit intake of tea, coffee, or alcohol.

Avoid acidic and spicy food as it may cause indigestion.
