About COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS

COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS is a respiratory medication, primarily used to treat and prevent asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) like bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes) and emphysema (shortness of breath). Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs.

COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS is a combination of two medicines, namely: Formoterol (bronchodilator) and Fluticasone (corticosteroids). Formoterol belongs to the class of bronchodilators. It is a long-acting beta-agonist that relaxes the muscles in the airways and increases airflow to the lungs. Formoterol makes breathing easier by widening the airways. Fluticasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids. It acts by blocking prostaglandin's production (chemical messengers) that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. Thereby, it provides relief from sneezing, runny or blocked nose and sinus discomfort. It helps to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children.

COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS is available in the form of an inhaler, autohaler, rotacap/transcaps, capsules and rotadisk. Your doctor will advise on how often you take COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS based on your medical condition. The common side effects of COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS include nausea, vomiting, respiratory tract infection, headache, sore throat, cough, bone, muscle or joint pain, increased heart rate, chills, tiredness and noisy breathing. Most of these side effects of COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not use COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS to treat sudden severe symptoms of asthma or as a rescue inhaler. Bronchodilators like Formoterol can cause hypokalemia. Hence regular monitoring of potassium levels is recommended. Therapy with nasal or inhaled corticosteroids like Fluticasone should be cautiously administered in patients with a fungal, bacterial, parasitic or viral infection and tuberculosis. There are chances of developing a secondary infection. Please check with your doctor if you are pregnant, currently breastfeeding or taking any other prescribed or non-prescribed medicines.

Brief your medical history if you have heart, liver, kidney diseases, high blood pressure, hypokalaemia (low potassium levels in the blood), aneurysm (swelling of an artery), pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumor), hyperadrenocorticism (high levels of cortisol), eye disorders like cataract and glaucoma, chickenpox or measles, immune system problem, seizure (fits), osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones) and diabetes before taking COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS. COMBIHALE FF 100MCG ROTACAPS is not recommended for children below five years of age.
