About EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET

EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic primarily taken to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract. Additionally, it is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.

EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria. In turn, EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotic that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections

EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET should be taken as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with a meal to avoid stomach upset and at fixed intervals every day for best results. The dose of EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will in fact stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). The common side effects of EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET include diarrhoea, nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (Indigestion), and vomiting. Everyone need not experience the above side effects. In case of any discomfort, speak with a doctor if you notice any sudden wheeziness, tightness in the chest or throat, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (especially affecting your whole body) STOP TAKING your medicine and go to a doctor immediately.

Before starting EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.  If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET. As far as it is known, EXTACEF DT 50MG TABLET may be used in pregnancy. Consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with cefixime.
