About Fudic Cream 5gm

Fudic Cream 5gm belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections of skin, eyes, bone, lungs and blood. The bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly.

Fudic Cream 5gm is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it stops the growth of bacteria without killing them directly. Then the bacteria eventually die, or immune system destroys them and clears the infection.

Fudic Cream 5gm is available in topical, oral, injection and ophthalmic dosage forms. The oral and ophthalmic dosage forms of Fudic Cream 5gm should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The injection form of Fudic Cream 5gm is given as intravenous (IV) infusion by a doctor or nurse. The topical form of Fudic Cream 5gm should be applied gently on the affected area of the skin 3 to 4 times daily. Your doctor will advise you how often you take Fudic Cream 5gm based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience redness, itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Fudic Cream 5gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are using Fudic Cream 5gm in topical form, avoid smoking or going near naked flames as the fabric (bedding, clothing, dressings) that is in contact with Fudic Cream 5gm catches fire and burns easily which is a serious fire hazard. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Fudic Cream 5gm. Do not apply Fudic Cream 5gm in large amounts or use for a long time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects and makes skin more sensitive to Fudic Cream 5gm. If you have liver problems or gallstones, please inform your doctor before taking Fudic Cream 5gm.

Fudic Cream 5gm is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic that mainly acts against most of the gram-positive bacteria. Fudic Cream 5gm in topical form is used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections. The ophthalmic form (eye drops) of Fudic Cream 5gm is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Fudic Cream 5gm in oral form is used to treat bacterial infections of eyes, bone, lungs and blood. Fudic Cream 5gm inhibits the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it stops the growth of bacteria without killing them directly. Then the bacteria eventually die, or immune system destroys them and clears the infection.

Directions for Use

Topically: Wash your hands before and after applying Fudic Cream 5gm. Take a small amount of Fudic Cream 5gm and gently rub on the affected area of the skin 3 to 4 times every day. Fudic Cream 5gm is only for external use. If you are using Fudic Cream 5gm on face, avoid contact with eyes as it may irritate. In case Fudic Cream 5gm comes in contact with eyes accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you still have a problem with your eye or notice any vision problems, consult your doctor immediately. Orally: If you are prescribed Fudic Cream 5gm in oral form, swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Take Fudic Cream 5gm with or without food. Do not break, crush or chew it. If it is oral suspension form, shake the bottle well before use and take Fudic Cream 5gm as prescribed by your doctor with a measuring cup or spoon provided.Ophthalmic (eye drops): Use Fudic Cream 5gm as prescribed by your doctor. Apply one drop of Fudic Cream 5gm in the morning and one drop in the evening in the affected eye. Your doctor will advise you how many drops to instil based on your medical condition. Fudic Cream 5gm is for use only in the eyes. Do not swallow Fudic Cream 5gm. Please do not touch the container tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Fudic Cream 5gm and cause eye infections.Injection: Fudic Cream 5gm in injection form is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion by a doctor or nurse.

  • Take probiotics after completing the full course of Fudic Cream 5gm (oral form) to restore some good bacteria in the intestines that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Certain fermented foods like cheese, yoghurt, kombucha, sauerkraut and kimchi can help to restore the good bacteria of intestine.
  • Include fibre rich foods, as it can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fibre rich foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Whole grains such as brown rice, whole grain bread should be included in your diet.
  • Make sure you drink plenty of water or other fluids every day while taking Fudic Cream 5gm.

Special Advise

  • You are advised to apply any other lotions, creams or ointments including cosmetics and moisturizers after 30 minutes of applying Fudic Cream 5gm as using both at the same time may reduce the effectiveness of Fudic Cream 5gm.
  • You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using Fudic Cream 5gm (eye drops) as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that may cause eye irritation and discolouration of soft contact lens. You can reinsert contact lenses after 15 minutes of using Fudic Cream 5gm.
  • Regular blood tests are recommended while taking Fudic Cream 5gm (oral form) to monitor liver functioning.
