About Glucreta GM 2 Tablet

Glucreta GM 2 Tablet is an antidiabetic medicine used to treat diabetes. It is used for the treatment of Type II Diabetes. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic condition that influences the body's metabolism of glucose or blood sugar. Insulin resistance or insufficient insulin production are the two main causes of type 2 diabetes.

Glucreta GM 2 Tablet contains Dapagliflozin (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors), Metformin (biguanides), and Glimepiride (sulfonylurea), which work by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances that lower blood sugar when it is high.

Glucreta GM 2 Tablet may cause certain side effects, such as vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, and allergic reactions. If these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Glucreta GM 2 Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.

The detailed uses of Glucreta GM 2 Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Type 2 diabetes management: Glucreta GM 2 Tablet helps control high blood sugar levels in adults when lifestyle changes and dual therapy are not sufficient.<br/>• Improved glycemic control: Glucreta GM 2 Tablet regulates blood glucose through several complementary actions, including enhancing insulin secretion, improving how the body responds to insulin, and increasing the elimination of excess glucose through urine.<br/>• Reduction of HbA1c levels: Glucreta GM 2 Tablet aims to lower glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), which reflects long-term blood sugar control.<br/>• Prevention of complications: Glucreta GM 2 Tablet helps reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications such as kidney damage, nerve issues, and heart disease.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Take Glucreta GM 2 Tablet with food to reduce stomach upset or gastrointestinal side effects.• Recommended to take it once daily in the morning or as advised by your doctor.• Swallow the medicine as a whole with glass of water.• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

Glucreta GM 2 Tablet  is a combination of three drugs, namely: Dapagliflozin, Metformin and Glimepiride. What if I have taken an overdose of Glucreta GM 2 Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Glucreta GM 2 Tablet may include low blood sugar, stomach pain and diarrhoea. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe these symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

Glucreta GM 2 Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to any of the medicines or their components. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor about your medical history and the medications you take, including herbs and supplements, to rule out any side effects. It is unknown whether Glucreta GM 2 Tablet can be given to pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. Hence, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Avoid drinking alcohol while on Glucreta GM 2 Tablet  as it increases the risk of hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis (when the lactic acid increases in the body, which impacts the functioning of various organs in the body). Inform your doctor if you have any liver/kidney disease, heart problems, and hypertension before taking Glucreta GM 2 Tablet .

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Try doing 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity or one hour and 15 minutes of high-intensity exercise weekly. 
  • Include your diet with whole grain foods, fruits and veggies and other fiber-enriched foods. 
  • Add omega-3 fatty acid-containing oils for daily cooking.
  • Avoid taking too much stress as it may elevate your blood sugar level. You can adopt stress management techniques like mindfulness, meditation, or yoga to control stress-related blood sugar changes.
  • Loss of weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
  • Keep your blood pressure as normal (140/90) as possible, as it reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases in diabetes patients.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption while on treatment with Glucreta GM 2 Tablet .
  • Take short, frequent meals, and avoid prolonged fasting when taking Glucreta GM 2 Tablet .
