About LYCOGREEN CAPSULE

LYCOGREEN CAPSULE is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat various skin infections like eczema, psoriasis, minor burns or cuts, wounds, impetigo (red sores on the face), and folliculitis (infected hair follicles). Eczema is a condition in which skin patches become inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply and form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales. LYCOGREEN CAPSULE will not work for fungal and viral skin infections.

LYCOGREEN CAPSULE is composed of Gentamicin (antibiotic) and Betacarotene (antioxidant). Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used in treating bacterial infections of the skin. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Betacarotene is a plant pigment that belongs to the class of carotenoids. It has antioxidant properties and protects the skin against ultraviolet radiations from the sun. It helps in treating erythropoietic protoporphyria (an inherited disorder of sensitivity to the light).

Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose of LYCOGREEN CAPSULE that suits your infection. Common side effects of LYCOGREEN CAPSULE include skin irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist longer, please seek medical help.

LYCOGREEN CAPSULE is for topical (for skin) use only. Let your doctor know if you are sensitive to LYCOGREEN CAPSULE or any other medications. Do not use topical LYCOGREEN CAPSULE on open wounds, blisters, and lesions. Topical aminoglycosides like Gentamicin are not intended for use in serious burns. LYCOGREEN CAPSULE is not for oral, ophthalmic (eye) or intravaginal use. Do not put dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before using LYCOGREEN CAPSULE.
