About Murox PD Syrup

Murox PD Syrup is a cough syrup. It helps relieve cough associated with mucus and chest congestion caused by the common cold and flu in children. Coughing can be defined as the body's way of clearing irritants like allergens, mucus or smoke from the airways.

Murox PD Syrup is a combination medicine of Ambroxol and Terbutaline. Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose, whereas terbutaline relaxes muscles and widens the airways.

Murox PD Syrup may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhoea, tremors, and stomach upset. If these side effects worsen, please consult your child's doctor. Murox PD Syrup should be given as advised by the doctor.

Murox PD Syrup is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Murox PD Syrup to your child if he/she is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep the doctor informed about your child’s condition, including the medications and medical history, to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform the doctor if your child has any liver or kidney disease.

What if I have taken an overdose of Murox PD Syrup

Do not take more than prescribed dose. Symptoms of an overdose include extensions of the common undesirable effects (e.g., diarrhea, dyspepsia, pyrosis, nausea, vomiting, and skin rashes. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these or think you have taken too much.

  • Try to give food containing green leafy vegetables.
  • Make your child drink plenty of fluids to avoid a dry throat. It also helps loosen mucus.
  • Avoid giving citrus fruits like oranges to your child as they may worsen the cough.
