About Ultimate Forte Tablet

Ultimate Forte Tablet belongs to the class of 'anti-malarial drugs', primarily used to treat and prevent malaria. Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. When an infected mosquito bites a healthy person, it sends the 'Plasmodium parasite' into the bloodstream, which affects the red blood cells and liver cells. Malaria symptoms typically begin 10 days to 4 weeks after infection. They include chills, high fever, profuse sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, anaemia, muscle pain, convulsions, coma and bloody stools.

Ultimate Forte Tablet contains two medicines, namely: Artemether and Lumefantrine. These are anti-malarial drugs that interfere with the Plasmodium parasite's growth in the red blood cells of the human body. Ultimate Forte Tablet is a combination that is used to treat non-severe malaria caused by a parasite called 'Plasmodium falciparum,' and other Plasmodium species. It works by inhibiting nucleic acid and protein synthesis in Plasmodium falciparum. Artemether is known to reduce parasite biomass, and Lumefantrine eliminates residual parasites.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your medical condition. Common side effects of Ultimate Forte Tablet include headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, weakness, fever, chills, tiredness, muscle/joint pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cough and trouble sleeping. The detailed uses of Ultimate Forte Tablet are as follows: <br/>• Malaria Treatment: Ultimate Forte Tablet is frequently used to treat and prevent malaria, especially in regions where the parasite that causes the disease is resistant to other drugs. <br/>• Prevention of Some Autoimmune illnesses: It can be used to avoid flare-ups in people with autoimmune diseases, which helps them manage their conditions over the long term. <br/>

Directions for Use

  • Ultimate Forte Tablet can be taken with food to help reduce the risk of stomach upset.
  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
  • Swallow Ultimate Forte Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. For patients such as infants and children who cannot swallow tablets, crush the tablet and mix it with 1 to 2 teaspoons of water in a clean container, then administer it.
  • Rinse the container with more water and swallow the contents. You can also give the crushed tablet preparation with food or drink, such as milk, formula, pudding, broth, and porridge.
  • Do not crush, break, or chew it.

Drug Warnings

Let your doctor know if you use any antibiotic drugs or have recently undergone treatment with other anti-malarial drugs. Ultimate Forte Tablet may affect QT prolongation, which can cause a severe, fast/irregular heartbeat. Hence, it is advised to inform your doctor if you have any heart-related problems like heart failure, slow heartbeat, QT prolongation in EKG or ECG (electrocardiogram), and a family history of heart diseases.
