QUEL 200MG TABLET . is used to treat schizophrenia(chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels and behaves) in adults and children who are at least 13 years old.
. is used to treat bipolar disorder (manic depression) in adults and children who are at least 10 years old.
. is also used together with antidepressant medications to treat major depressive disorder in adults.

QUEL 200MG TABLET comes as a tablet to be taken by mouth. The tablets are usually taken one to three times a day, with or without food. The tablets are usually taken once a day in the evening without food or with a light meal. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully. Take this medicine exactly as directed by physician.

QUEL 200MG TABLET works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it.
• Tell your doctor if you:
- or someone in your family have or have had any heart problems
- have low blood pressure
- have had a stroke, especially if you are elderly
- have ever had a fit (seizure)
- have diabetes or have a risk of getting diabetes
- have had low levels of white blood cells in the past
- are an elderly person with dementia (loss of brain function)
- or someone else in your family has a history of blood clots
- have or have had a condition where you stop breathing for short periods during your normal nightly sleep (called ‘sleep apnoea’)
- have or have had a condition where you cannot completely empty your bladder (urinary retention), have an enlarged prostate, a blockage in your intestines or increase pressure inside your eye
