Is there any permanent or complete cure for psoriasis? I have had psoriasis for the last 4 years and have tried many medicines, but I am still not fully cured. What should I do next?

Psoriasis is a long-term condition related to the immune system, and at present, there is no guaranteed permanent or complete cure. However, many people are able to control the disease very well and remain symptom-free for long periods with proper treatment and lifestyle care. It is common for psoriasis to improve and worsen in cycles, so even if you have tried many medicines, it does not mean treatment has failed completely. Different people respond differently to treatments, and sometimes the treatment plan needs to be changed or adjusted over time. Depending on the severity of your psoriasis, a dermatologist may recommend medicated creams, phototherapy (light treatment), tablets, or newer biologic medicines that target the immune system more effectively and can give significant improvement in difficult cases. Keeping the skin well moisturised daily is very important because dryness can worsen itching and scaling. Avoiding triggers such as stress, smoking, alcohol, infections, harsh soaps, skin injury, and lack of sleep may also help reduce flare-ups. Maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, and a balanced diet can support overall skin health. If you have joint pain or swelling along with psoriasis, you should inform your doctor because psoriasis can sometimes affect the joints as well. Regular follow-up with a dermatologist is important because long-term management often gives better results than frequently changing treatments on your own. With modern treatment options and proper care, many patients with psoriasis are able to live comfortably and control the condition effectively.
