Betnovate N Cream treats various bacterial skin infections, such as eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough skin patches), psoriasis (skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales), dermatitis (itchy inflammation of the skin), and insect bites. Betnovate N Cream also effectively treats prurigo nodularis (hard, itchy lumps on the skin), lichen simplex chronicus (scaling of the skin due to repetitive itching), lichen planus (swelling and irritation on the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes), seborrhoeic dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin mainly on the scalp), miliaria (prickly heat), anal and genital intertrigo (chaffing of the skin). Betnovate N Cream consists of Betamethasone (corticosteroid) and Neomycin (antibiotic). Betamethasone blocks prostaglandin production (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. Betnovate N Cream is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If Betnovate N Cream gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with water. Do not put a bandage or a dressing on the affected area while using Betnovate N Cream unless advised by the doctor. Do not apply Betnovate N Cream on sunburns, open wounds, lesions and blisters.
Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Betnovate N Cream based on the severity of your infection. It is advised to use Betnovate N Cream only for the prescribed period since long-term usage of Betnovate N Cream may cause increased hair growth and weakening and thinning of the skin.
Betnovate N Cream is not recommended for use in diaper rash. Please use Betnovate N Cream under medical guidance if you have pituitary gland diseases, dehydration problems, chronic leg ulcers, cataract or glaucoma, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, hearing problems (ototoxicity), osteoporosis, muscle weakness, liver/kidney diseases, and Cushing's disease (high cortisol levels).
Betnovate N Cream is not recommended for use in acne treatment. It is also advised not to use Betnovate N Cream for a rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis), viral skin infections, itching of genital and anal skin, yeast infections, and rosacea (small, red, pus-filled bumps on the face). Please seek a doctor's advice if you have any of these conditions.
Betnovate N Cream should be used with other topical medicines only if advised by the doctor. However, you are advised to maintain at least a three-hour gap between Betnovate N Cream and other topical medicine.
