Composition:
DEXAMETHASONE-0.1%W/V + MOXIFLOXACIN-0.5%W/V
Uses:
Moximax D Eye Drop is an antibiotic used to treat eye irritation. It is also used to treat conjunctivitis, an infection of the conjunctiva. The drops help reduce redness, irritation, and swelling while inhibiting bacteria development. This medication should only be used in the affected eye, and you must follow the course of treatment. If you stop too soon, the infection may recur and worsen.
Medicinal Benefits:
Moximax D Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Moxifloxacin and Dexamethasone. Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that interferes with the formation of essential proteins for bacterial growth. Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine that has anti-inflammatory properties and acts by inhibiting chemicals, such as prostaglandins, that cause inflammation. It also reduces symptoms associated with infection, such as redness and irritation.
Moximax D Eye Drop is used to treat inflammation associated with bacterial eye infections
Moximax D Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Moxifloxacin and Dexamethasone. Moxifloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic (kills bacteria) by stopping making a copy of their genetic material (DNA), thereby preventing bacterial infection growth. Dexamethasone is a steroid that helps prevent allergic symptoms or inflammatory conditions caused due to the bacterial infection or any eye surgery. Thus, together Moximax D Eye Drop helps in preventing the bacterial eye infections.
Moximax D Eye Drop usually improves symptoms within 3 to 5 days. However, use medicine for a duration recommended by your doctor. Please do not use for more than the recommended duration as it contains dexamethasone, which is a steroid and can cause unwanted side-effects.
Inform your doctor before any medications while using Moximax D Eye Drop. If your doctor advises you to take other eye drops along with Moximax D Eye Drop, maintain an interval of at least 5 minutes between two eye drops.
Do not wear contact lenses while using Moximax D Eye Drop. Also, avoid prolonged use, as it may cause cataracts (clouding of the eye).
No, you should not stop using Moximax D Eye Drop if you feel better. It’s important to complete the course as prescribed by your doctor to ensure the infection is fully treated and to prevent a recurrence. If you have any concerns or if your symptoms persist, consult your doctor. Stopping the medication early may also lead to antibiotic resistance.
The common side effects of Moximax D Eye Drop are stinging or burning sensation, redness, blurred vision, swelling and watery eyes. If any of these persist or worsen consult your doctor.
