Peditral Sachet is a combination of four drugs, namely: Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, dextrose, and sodium citrate. Peditral Sachet is used to treat or prevent dehydration (too much loss of body water). It is indicated as a source of electrolytes, water, and calories. Peditral Sachet helps in replacing the fluids and minerals lost due to vomiting or diarrhoea. Thereby, helps in treating and preventing dehydration.

Peditral Sachet may increase the risk of hyperkalemia (high level of potassium in the blood). Peditral Sachet should be avoided in patients with or at risk for hyperkalemia.
Peditral Sachet should be used with caution in patients with impaired glucose tolerance. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is advised.
The risk for hyponatremia is increased in elderly, paediatric patients, postoperative patients and patients who are taking drugs which may increase the risk of hyponatremia. Close clinical monitoring in such patients is advised.
Consult your doctor before taking corticosteroids or corticotropin as it may increase the risk of sodium fluid retention.
Peditral Sachet does not stop diarrhoea. It helps prevent and treat dehydration due to diarrhoea.
Peditral Sachet is probably safe for pregnant and lactating women. However, consult the doctor if you have any concerns.
