Uses:
Sodium Chloride Injection is used in the treatment of Fluid replacement. The detailed uses of Sodium Chloride Injection are as follows:
• Fluid Replacement: Sodium Chloride Injection helps to rehydrate patients by replenishing fluids lost due to illness, surgery, or other medical conditions.
• Electrolyte Balance: Sodium Chloride Injection maintains electrolyte balance by replenishing sodium and chloride levels, crucial for various bodily functions.
• Dilution of Medications: Sodium Chloride Injection serves as a diluent for medications, allowing safe and effective intravenous administration.
• Wound Irrigation: Sodium Chloride Injection cleanses wounds, promoting a clean environment and helping prevent infection.
• Maintenance of Catheter Patency: Sodium Chloride Injection is used to flush catheters and IV lines, preventing clot formation and maintaining patency.
Medicinal Benefits:
Sodium Chloride Injection is indicated for the extracellular fluid replacement, parenteral replenishment of fluid and sodium chloride as required by the patient’s clinical condition, and treatment of metabolic acidosis in the presence of fluid loss. It helps prevent and treat salt and fluid imbalances in the body. Sodium Chloride Injection helps maintain the balance of fluid in and around the body’s cells and tissues. It aids in the restoration of the normal salt balance. Sodium Chloride Injection acts as a source of electrolytes and water for hydration. Sodium chloride may be used to dilute or prepare some drugs for use and irrigation (wash out wounds).

Caution is advised if you are taking corticosteroids or corticotropin. Please consult your doctor.
Sodium Chloride Injection may cause hyponatremia (low level of sodium). The risk for hyponatremia is increased in elderly, paediatric patients, postoperative patients, and patients taking drugs which may increase the risk of hyponatremia. Close clinical monitoring in such patients is advised.
