Alwin Syrup is used to treat parasitic worm infections like neurocysticercosis (illness caused by pork tapeworm) and cystic hydatid disease (infection caused by dog tapeworm). Additionally, it is also used to treat infections caused by roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, flukes, and other parasites. It contains Albendazole, which causes metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, leading to its immobilisation. Thereby, kills the susceptible helminth and treats the infection. In some cases, it may cause certain common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.
