Ampi Meg 1gm/500mg Injection is used to treat several types of bacterial infections. It contains Ampicillin (a penicillin antibiotic) and Sulbactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that treats the infection by killing the bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It broadens the spectrum of antibacterial activity by inhibiting the action of beta-lactamase, an enzyme produced by bacteria that can destroy antibiotics.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Inform your doctor if you are taking medicines used to treat gout (probenecid, allopurinol), anticancer drugs (methotrexate), aminoglycosides, anticoagulants (blood thinners), antibiotics (erythromycin, sulphonamides, chloramphenicol, tetracyclines), or estrogen-containing oral contraceptives.

When BCG vaccine is used with Ampi Meg 1gm/500mg Injection, its effectiveness may be reduced.

Taking Ampi Meg 1gm/500mg Injection with Ampi Meg 1gm/500mg Injection is not recommended as it can lead to an interaction, it can be taken if prescribed by the doctor. However, it is advised to take Cholera vaccine at least 14 days after completing Ampi Meg 1gm/500mg Injection therapy. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
