Ampilox Kid Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections. It contains Ampicillin and Dicloxacillin which work by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. In some cases, this medicine may cause side effects such as diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and allergic reactions. Before taking this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking any other medication, or have any pre-existing medical conditions.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Ampilox Kid Tablet may have interaction with antibiotics (chloramphenicol, doxycycline), anticoagulants (warfarin), pain killers (aspirin), vaccines (live cholera vaccine), Anti-hypertensives (atenolol), anti-cancer (methotrexate).

Drug-Food Interaction: Ampilox Kid Tablet may interact with grapefruit juice.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Ampilox Kid Tablet should be used with caution in kidney diseases, liver, mononucleosis, and gastrointestinal diseases.

How does the drug interact with Ampilox Kid Tablet:
When BCG vaccine is used with Ampicillin and Cloxacillin, its effectiveness may be reduced.

How to manage the interaction:
Taking Ampicillin and Cloxacillin with BCG vaccine is generally avoided, it can be taken if prescribed by the doctor. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.

Co-administration of methotrexate with Ampicillin and cloxacillin can increase the risk or severity of developing side effects.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between cloxacillin and Ampicillin with methotrexate, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience any symptoms such as paleness, fainting, unusual bleeding or bruising, body aches, Consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting to a doctor.

How does the drug interact with Ampilox Kid Tablet:
Co-administration of Ampicillin and Cloxacillin with Cholera, live attenuated together may reduce the activity of the vaccine.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Ampicillin and Cloxacillin with Cholera, live attenuated, it can be taken if advised by the doctor. It is advised to receive cholera vaccine, live until at least 14 days after you complete your Ampicillin and Cloxacillin therapy. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
