Antima 100mg Syrup belongs to the group of medications called quinolines. It is primarily used for the treatment of malaria and amebiasis. It works by entering the parasite-infected red blood cells and interfering with the parasite’s ability to break down haemoglobin, causing a toxic buildup and parasite death. In malaria, it targets the Plasmodium parasites during their blood stage. In amoebiasis, it accumulates in the liver and acts against Entamoeba histolytica in hepatic infections. The common side effects of Antima 100mg Syrup include changes in vision, seizures, hallucinations, muscle weakness, and feeling faint. Most of these side effects are temporary and gradually resolve over time. However, please consult the doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
