Avoid scratching, squeezing, or applying strong creams without medical advice, especially steroid-containing creams, as they may worsen the problem. Keep the area clean and dry, wear loose cotton underwear, and maintain proper hygiene. Avoid sexual contact until the exact cause is clear, especially if there is discharge, pain, ulcers, or itching. In most mild cases, applying a warm compress to the area for 10-15 minutes, 3-4 times a day, helps the boil soften and drain naturally. Keep the area clean and dry, avoid squeezing or popping the boil, and wear loose cotton clothing to reduce irritation. You may use an antiseptic wash and take a mild pain reliever such as paracetamol if needed.
