DD 50 mg Injection 1 ml is used to treat osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. It contains Nandrolone, which promote bone formation and effectively delay bone loss. It may cause common side effects such as fluid retention in the tissues (swelling of the ankles or feet or increased blood pressure); masculinization (an increase in male characteristics in women) such as a change in voice, hoarseness, increase in body or facial hair or acne; increased libido (sexual desire); nausea and itching. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Side effects of DD 50 mg Injection 1 ml

Hoarseness

To keep your vocal cords lubricated and hydrated, drink lots of water.
Suck on ice chips, popsicles, or lozenges to clear your throat and reduce hoarseness.
Your voice cords may be soothed and healed by honey's antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Gargle with salt water.
Using a steam humidifier or inhaling steam might help minimize hoarseness and release mucus.

Pimples

Keep your skin clean by gently washing your face two times daily and after sweating. Choose a mild and non-abrasive cleanser.
Use gentle alcohol-free skin care products. Avoid products that might irritate your skin such as exfoliants, astringents and toners.
Acne may also occur due to oil in the hair. Thus, if you have oily hair, shampoo more frequently than you do now and keep your hair away from face.
Keep your hands off your face as touching face throughout the day might worsen acne. Also, do not pick, squeeze or pop acne as it will prolong the healing process and increase the risk of dark spots and scarring.
Avoid tanning by applying a broad spectrum sunscreen and wearing sun-protective clothing when outdoors.

Excessive Hair Growth

Regular cleansing will help get rid of dead skin cells and stop ingrown hairs.
Keep your hormones in balance by managing your stress, eating well and exercising regularly.
Shaving, waxing, and bleaching are ways to get rid of extra hair.

Change In Sex Drive

Your doctor might suggest giving it some time to see if there is any change in your sex drive after stopping the medication, adjusting the dose, or switching to another medication.
Engaging in regular aerobic exercise and strength training can improve your stamina, mood, and sex drive.
Managing stress through relaxation activities, such as taking a vacation or practicing yoga, can also help.
Avoid smoking and consuming excess alcohol.
Maintain a healthy weight to support overall health.
If necessary, consider consulting a sex therapist or counsellor to address and manage any concerns related to your sex drive.

Drug-Drug Interaction: DD 50 mg Injection 1 ml may enhance the action of anticoagulants. It may also interact with insulin or other oral medications used to treat diabetes and a medication used to treat anaemia (erythropoietin).
