Melalite 15 Cream is a topical medication used in the treatment of hyperpigmentation and melasma. This is a skin-lightening medicine which works by decreasing the melanin (a skin pigment) concentration responsible for the skin's darkening. Common side effects include redness, irritation, itching, burning, or stinging sensation of the skin. This is a external preparation, hence avoid contact with your eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

Will Melalite 15 Cream help remove my freckles effectively?

Melalite 15 Cream contains Hydroquinone, a skin-lightening agent that can help fade freckles (small brown or reddish spots caused by sun exposure) by reducing melanin (a skin pigment) production, but it may not remove them completely. The added UV filters, Octinoxate and Oxybenzone, help protect the skin from sun exposure, which can make freckles more noticeable or worsen them. However, you should use this cream carefully and only for a short period under a doctor’s guidance, as prolonged use may sometimes lead to skin irritation or uneven skin tone.

Is it dangerous to use expired Melalite 15 Cream (Hydroquinone 2% + Octinoxate 9% + Oxybenzone 2.5%)?

Using expired Melalite 15 Cream is not recommended. After expiration, the active ingredients may lose effectiveness, and Hydroquinone can oxidise, which may cause skin irritation, redness, or rash. While it’s unlikely to cause serious harm, the cream may not work properly. It’s safest to use a fresh, in-date product.
