Mycotero 500 Tablet is used to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted organ such as a kidney, heart or liver. It contains Mycophenolate mofetil, which is used along with another immunosuppressant and anti-inflammatory agent. It inhibits T and B lymphocytes (type of white blood cells that attack foreign cells) and suppresses the production of antibodies (identify and kill foreign cells). These effects suppress the immune system so that the transplanted graft is not rejected. It may cause common side effects such as diarrhoea, vomiting, decreased white blood cells and red blood cell count and infections. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.
