Omepil 20mg Capsule is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer (stomach or duodenal ulcer), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (overproduction of acid due to a pancreatic tumor). It contains Omeprazole, which helps reduce stomach acid and relieves symptoms of food pipe lining inflammation (esophagitis), acid reflux, or heartburn. It may cause common side effects such as stomach pain, gas formation (flatulence), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and any pre-existing medical conditions.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Omepil 20mg Capsule may interact with blood thinners (clopidogrel, warfarin), antifungals (ketoconazole, voriconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole), anti-HIV drugs (atazanavir, nelfinavir), iron supplements, antibiotics (ampicillin, rifampicin), heart medicines (digoxin), and anti-cancer drugs (methotrexate).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid taking St John's wort (a herbal supplement used as an antidepressant) with Omepil 20mg Capsule, as it may interfere with the working of this medication

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor before taking Omepil 20mg Capsule if you have stomach or intestinal cancer, severe liver problems, hypomagnesemia (low blood magnesium levels), bone problems (osteoporosis), and Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
