Primaquine 7.5 Tablet is an antimalarial drug used for the treatment of malaria. It contains Primaquine, which kills the malaria parasite and stops the infection from spreading. It helps to prevent the relapse of malaria caused by plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium ovale strains of the parasite. It may cause common side effects such as rash, vomiting, headache, dizziness, stomach pain, nausea, itching, heartburn, and gastrointestinal discomfort.

Nausea

Persistent Malaria for 10 days needs prompt medical review because treatment depends on the malaria type (such as *P. vivax* or *P. falciparum*), severity, age, pregnancy status, and local resistance patterns. Standard treatment may include prescription antimalarial medicines such as artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT), Chloroquine in selected cases, or Primaquine for preventing relapse in some types of malaria. Persistent fever may mean incomplete treatment, drug resistance, reinfection, or another illness. Do not self-medicate or repeat antibiotics on your own. Drug-Drug Interaction: Primaquine 7.5 Tablet can interact with pain killers (aspirin), antibiotics (ciprofloxacin), antimalarials (quinacrine), corticosteroids (dexamethasone), anti-epileptic (Phenytoin), vitamins (cyanocobalamin, cholecalciferol, riboflavin, pyridoxine, thiamine, ascorbic acid).

Drug-Food Interaction: Limit the consumption of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with Primaquine 7.5 Tablet as it can significantly increase the level of this medicine in the blood.

Drug-Disease Interaction: People affected with eye disorder (oculotoxicity), blood disease (porphyria), heart disease (arrhythmias), bone marrow suppression, seizures, enzyme deficiency (G-6-PD deficiency), liver disease (hepatotoxicity), hemolytic anaemia should not take Primaquine 7.5 Tablet without doctors consultation.
