Cpink Drops is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). It contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid, which work by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs is produced in the body, so that each tissue in the body gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. In some cases, it may cause side effects such as vomiting, nausea, stomach upset, or dark-coloured stool. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Cpink Drops may have interactions with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, sodium valproate, carbamazepine), antibiotics (chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, trimethoprim), antimanic drugs (lithium), water tablets (triamterene), anti-inflammatory drug (sulfasalazine), painkillers (aspirin), anticancer drug (methotrexate).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid intake of dairy products, coffee or tea with Cpink Drops at the same time, as they may reduce the absorption of Cpink Drops.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or a folate-dependent tumor, inform your doctor before taking Cpink Drops.

How does the drug interact with Cpink Drops 15 ml:
Co-administration of Ferrous ascorbate, Folic acid with Capecitabine may increase the risk of side effects.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Ferrous ascorbate, Folic acid and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, loose stools, severe nausea and vomiting, tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, mouth ulcers or sores, numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
