My doctor prescribed KTC lotion for a fungal infection on my body, but only KTC shampoo for scalp use is available in the market. Can I safely use the KTC shampoo on my body, or is there a specific KTC body lotion available?

KTC shampoo is mainly made for scalp fungal infections or dandruff-related conditions, but in some situations, doctors may also advise using antifungal shampoos on body skin for certain fungal infections, especially if large areas are affected. However, it should not be used on the body without confirming your doctor's instructions because the method of use and duration may differ from regular body creams or lotions. There may be antifungal lotions or creams with similar ingredients available under the same or different brand names in the market, and your doctor may help identify the correct alternative if the exact KTC lotion is unavailable. Avoid self-medicating with multiple creams, especially steroid-containing creams, because they can temporarily reduce itching but may worsen fungal infections over time and make them recur. Keep the affected area clean and dry, wear loose cotton clothing, avoid excessive sweating, and do not share towels or personal clothing items.
