Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Acef Z 500mg Injection to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - CEFTAZIDIME-500MG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Acef Z 500mg Injection is used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. The detailed uses of Acef Z 500mg Injection are as follows:
Acef Z 500mg Injection contains Ceftazidime, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts against both aerobic (grow in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (grow in the absence of oxygen) gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. It is used in the treatment of several bacterial infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract, brain, bones and joints, ears, throat, skin and soft tissue. Acef Z 500mg Injection interferes with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Thereby damages the bacterial cell wall and kills bacteria. Additionally, Acef Z 500mg Injection may be used to treat fever due to bacterial infections in patients with low white blood cells count and also to prevent bacterial infections in men during prostate surgery.
