Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Arbitus 500Mg Tablet to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - ABIRATERONE-500MG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Arbitus 500Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of prostate cancer. The detailed uses of Arbitus 500Mg Tablet are as follows:
Arbitus 500Mg Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called androgen biosynthesis inhibitors, indicated in combination with prednisone or prednisolone to treat prostate cancer in adult men that have spread to other body parts. Arbitus 500Mg Tablet contains ‘Abiraterone’ that works by stopping the body from making testosterone, thereby slowing the growth of prostate cancer. It is indicated in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) who have received prior chemotherapy containing docetaxel and metastatic high-risk castration-sensitive prostate cancer (CSPC). Arbitus 500Mg Tablet is prescribed in the early stages of the disease, where it is still responding to hormone therapy. It is used with androgen deprivation therapy (a treatment that lowers testosterone).
