<p>Flukocel Infusion is used in the treatment of fungal infections. The detailed uses of Flukocel Infusion are as follows:</p><ul><li><strong>Oropharyngeal candidiasis:</strong> Flukocel Infusion treats fungal infections of the mouth and throat caused by Candida species.</li><li><strong>Esophageal candidiasis:</strong> Flukocel Infusion treats fungal infections in the esophagus, reducing pain and difficulty in swallowing.</li><li><strong>Systemic Candida infections:</strong> Flukocel Infusion effectively treats severe infections such as candidemia, disseminated candidiasis, Candida pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and peritonitis<strong>.</strong></li><li><strong>Cryptococcal meningitis:</strong> Flukocel Infusion is used to manage meningitis caused by Cryptococcus neoformans, especially in immunocompromised patients such as those with AIDS.</li><li><strong>Prophylaxis:</strong> Flukocel Infusion is used to prevent candidiasis in bone marrow transplant patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.</li></ul>

Flukocel Infusion belongs to the class of medicines called 'antifungals' used to treat a broad range of infections caused by fungi and yeast.
Flukocel Infusion works by killing the fungus/yeast and preventing its growth by inhibiting the fungal cell membrane formation. Thus, it treats fungal infections.
Co-administration of terfenadine (anti-histamine), cisapride (antacid) with Flukocel Infusion is not recommended. However, consult your doctor before taking Flukocel Infusion with other medicines.
