Ilanew-DSR Capsule is a combination of two drugs: Ilaprazole and Domperidone. Ilanew-DSR Capsule is used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers. Ilaprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Proton pumps are tiny substances in the stomach lining that help it make acid to digest food. Ilaprazole prevents proton pumps from working properly. This reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist that works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscles. Together, Ilanew-DSR Capsule helps in treating acidity-related problems.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Ilanew-DSR Capsule. Drink enough fluids and eat fibre rich food if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you experience excessive diarrhoea or if you find blood in stools.

Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acid reflux. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This helps in preventing acid reflux.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Ilanew-DSR Capsule. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent drying of the mouth.

Do not take Ilanew-DSR Capsule for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve even after taking Ilanew-DSR Capsule for 7 days.

Ilanew-DSR Capsule is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. Therefore, consult a paediatrician, as they can provide the best guidance based on the child's specific health condition.

Ilanew-DSR Capsule should be used only during breastfeeding if your physician considers this necessary. Ask your doctor for advice.

If you accidentally take more Ilanew-DSR Capsule than prescribed, seek medical attention immediately. An overdose may cause symptoms such as sleepiness, confusion, uncontrolled movements, such as irregular eye movements or abnormal posture, such as a twisted neck. Contact your healthcare provider, a poison control centre, or emergency services for guidance and treatment.

The common side effects of Ilanew-DSR Capsule are diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence, dry mouth, dizziness, and fatigue. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, please consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
