Composition:
DEXAMETHASONE-0.1%W/V + OFLOXACIN-0.3%W/V
Uses:
Treatment of Bacterial eye infections.
Medicinal Benefits:
Indocin-D Eye Drop contains Dexamethasone and Ofloxacin. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that blocks prostaglandins' production (chemical messengers) and makes the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Ofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Thus Indocin-D Eye Drop treats bacterial eye infections.
Indocin-D Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Bacterial eye infection occurs when bacteria invade any part of the eyeball or its surrounding tissues, including the cornea (clear front surface of the eye) and the conjunctiva (thin membrane lining the outer eye and inner eyelids).
Indocin-D Eye Drop contains Ofloxacin and Dexamethasone. It helps treat bacterial infections of the eye by preventing bacteria growth and reduces the redness and itchiness in the infected areas.
It is advised to remove your contact lens if you are wearing it while administering eye drops. Also, remember to wash your hands before and after administering eye drops to avoid contamination.
If you use other eye ointments/drops along with Indocin-D Eye Drop, it is advised to maintain a gap of at least 5-10 minutes after each administration. Also, use eye drops before applying any ointments.
Do not stop using Indocin-D Eye Drop even if you feel better until the doctor's advised course is finished. Your symptoms may improve, but the infection may not be cured completely.
Take the missed dose of Indocin-D Eye Drop as soon as possible. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Generally, Indocin-D Eye Drop starts working immediately after administration. However, its effectiveness depends on the severity of the bacterial infection, dose, and frequency of administration. Follow your doctor's instructions on dosing and treatment duration to ensure optimal effectiveness and minimize side effects.

Tilt your head back and pull your lower eyelid downwards and outwards. Gently squeeze the dropper and put the eye drops inside the eye/eyes. Blink a few times to spread the medication inside your eye. Press gently on the eyelid's inner corner for 3 minutes to prevent the solution from draining into the nose and throat. If using more than one drop, wait about 5 minutes between drops.
The common side effects of Indocin-D Eye Drop may include eye discomfort, eye irritation, burning/stinging sensation, dryness, redness, and itching. Most of these side effects do not require medical treatment and can be resolved on their own over time. If these adverse effects persist, please see your doctor.
