Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Irex Tablet to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - FOLIC ACID-1.5MG+SODIUM FEREDETATE-231MG+VITAMIN B12-15MCG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Irex Tablet is used in the treatment of Iron deficiency anaemia. The detailed uses of Irex Tablet are as follows:
Irex Tablet contains Sodium Feredetate, Folic acid, and Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin). Irex Tablet is used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia. Sodium Feredetate acts as an iron source and aids in producing red blood cells and the transportation of oxygen to body tissues. It does not cause teeth discolouration and is less likely to cause stomach upset than other iron-containing medicines. Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents and treats folate deficiency. Vitamin B12 regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. It further helps in the proper functioning and development of the blood cells, nerves, and brain.
