Knit S Ointment is a combination of three drugs, namely, povidone-iodine, ornidazole, and sucralfate. Povidone iodine is an antiseptic agent that works by releasing iodine and damaging the protein, fatty acids, and nucleotides of micro-organism cells. Ornidazole is an antiprotozoal agent that kills infection-causing agents by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is an anti-ulcer medication that forms a protective barrier over the wound to help promote healing. Together, Knit S Ointment helps treat wound infections.

Avoid contact of Knit S Ointment with the nose or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using Knit S Ointment if your hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection. Do not use it for longer than prescribed.
The common side effects of Knit S Ointment are burning, itching, irritation, and dry skin. However, these side effects gradually decrease over time. Please consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
