Lumifen Tablet 6's is used in the treatment of malaria. The detailed uses of Lumifen Tablet 6's are as follows: <br/>• Malaria Treatment: Lumifen Tablet 6's is frequently used to treat and prevent malaria, especially in regions where the parasite that causes the disease is resistant to other drugs. <br/>• Prevention of Some Autoimmune illnesses: It can be used to avoid flare-ups in people with autoimmune diseases, which helps them manage their conditions over the long term. <br/>
Medicinal Benefits:
Lumifen Tablet 6's contains two anti-malarial drugs, namely: Artemether and Lumefantrine. It is a combination that treats non-severe malaria caused by a parasite called 'Plasmodium falciparum', and other Plasmodium species. It interferes with the growth of Plasmodium parasites in the red blood cells of the human body. Lumifen Tablet 6's works by inhibiting nucleic acid and protein synthesis in Plasmodium falciparum. Artemether reduces parasite biomass, and Lumefantrine eliminates residual parasites.
Lumifen Tablet 6's belongs to the class of anti-malarial drugs, used to treat and prevent malaria.
Lumifen Tablet 6's contains a combination of anti-malarial drugs, Artemether and Lumefantrine. It treats malaria by interfering with Plasmodium parasite's growth in the red blood cells of the human body.
Lumifen Tablet 6's may affect the heart rhythm and cause QT prolongation (heart muscle takes longer than usual to recharge between beats). This QT prolongation can cause serious fast/irregular heartbeat. Hence it is advised to inform your doctor if you have any heart-related problems like heart failure, slow heartbeat, QT prolongation in EKG or ECG (electrocardiogram) and a family history of heart diseases.
Lumifen Tablet 6's is not recommended in cases of any liver or kidney problems, malarial infection of the brain, lungs or kidneys, severe heart diseases and electrolyte imbalance. Also, let your doctor know if you have recently undergone treatment with other anti-malarial drugs.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Lumifen Tablet 6's should be swallowed as a whole with water; do not crush or chew it.
Lumifen Tablet 6's is not recommended during the first three months of pregnancy. Your doctor may recommend other alternative medications. Please seek medical advice if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
Lumifen Tablet 6's is contraindicated if you are allergic to any of its components.
Store Lumifen Tablet 6's at room temperature, in a dry place. Keep it out of sight and reach of children.
Lumifen Tablet 6's should be taken with food as it aids in better absorption of the medicine.
Take another dose of Lumifen Tablet 6's if you have vomited within 1-2 hours of taking the medicine.
Lumifen Tablet 6's may cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, weakness, fever, chills, tiredness, muscle or joint pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cough, and trouble sleeping. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary from person to person. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.
Do not discontinue Lumifen Tablet 6's without consulting your doctor. To treat your condition effectively, keep taking Lumifen Tablet 6's for the prescribed duration.
