Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from MYOCOM P 150 TABLETS to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - PARACETAMOL-325MG+TOLPERISONE-150MG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
MYOCOM P 150 TABLETS is used in the treatment of Muscle spasms. The detailed uses of MYOCOM P 150 TABLETS are as follows:
MYOCOM P 150 TABLETS treats muscle spasms and consists of Tolperisone (muscle relaxant) and Paracetamol (pain killer). Tolperisone is a centrally-acting muscle relaxant. It works on the spinal cord and brain to relieve contraction or muscle stiffness. It also increases the supply of blood to the muscles. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that further prevent the formation of chemical messengers called 'prostaglandins' (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the COX enzyme's effect, fewer PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.
