Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Ston 1 Syrup to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - MAGNESIUM CITRATE-375MG+POTASSIUM CITRATE-1100MG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Ston 1 Syrup is used in the treatment of kidney stones, renal tubular acidosis. The detailed uses of Ston 1 Syrup are as follows:
Ston 1 Syrup is a combination of two drugs, namely: Magnesium citrate and Potassium citrate. Ston 1 Syrup is indicated for the treatment of renal tubular acidosis with calcium stones, uric acid lithiasis with or without calcium stone, hypocitraturic calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis (kidney stones). Ston 1 Syrup raises the urinary pH, potassium, magnesium and citric acid levels; this prevents the crystallisation, growth and accumulation of stone-forming salts.
