Medicinal Benefits:
Wokadine Gargle is an antiseptic and disinfectant used to treat a sore throat. It also treats and prevents infections of the mouth and throat lining, such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and mouth ulcers. Wokadine Gargle is also used to cleanse the mouth for preparation of the oral mucosa before any injection, dental surgery or tooth extraction.
Wokadine Gargle is an antiseptic and disinfectant that inhibits the growth of infection-causing microbes. As a small molecule, Iodine in Wokadine Gargle can easily penetrate microorganisms and oxidise essential proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids, leading to cell death.
Wokadine Gargle is not recommended for use if you are undergoing any lithium therapy or treatment involving radioactive iodine. Wokadine Gargle should not be used before or after radioiodine scintigraphy or radioiodine treatment of thyroid carcinoma. In such conditions, please consult your doctor before using Wokadine Gargle.
Wokadine Gargle may interfere with thyroid function tests due to the absorption of iodine. Please inform your doctor before starting Wokadine Gargle if you have any history of thyroid problems. Wokadine Gargle can also yield false-positive lab results, such as tests using toluidine or guaiac, to detect haemoglobin or glucose in the stool or urine.
Wokadine Gargle is not meant for long-term usage or routine use. Do not use Wokadine Gargle for more than seven days unless instructed to do so by a doctor.
Wokadine Gargle is intended for treating sore throat and infections associated with the mouth and throat. It is not meant for use as a breath freshener.
Wokadine Gargle will not stain your teeth. The natural brown colour of Wokadine Gargle is due to its component, Povidone iodine. However, it may sometimes cause discolouration of dentures and braces. Therefore, remove them if possible before using Wokadine Gargle.
Wokadine Gargle may cause common side effects, such as mouth or throat irritation, dryness of the mouth and throat, and a burning sensation. These side effects gradually resolve over time and do not require medical attention. However, if the side effects persist longer, please seek medical help.
