Acnederm Lotion belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics used to treat acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that affects almost everyone at some point in their lives. Acne occurs when the hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells and oil.
Acnederm Lotion contains Erythromycin which prevents the synthesis of essential nutrients necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Thereby, kills the acne-causing bacteria.
Acnederm Lotion is for external use only. Some people may experience side effects like dry skin, burning sensation, peeling, itching, and redness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor.
Do not use Acnederm Lotion if you are allergic to erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics such as clarithromycin, azithromycin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. While applying Acnederm Lotion, make sure it does not come in contact with the eyes, nose, or mucous membrane. If Acnederm Lotion comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
