About Albucid 10% Eye Drops

Albucid 10% Eye Drops belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections. Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.

Albucid 10% Eye Drops contains Sulfacetamide which works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow and multiply. Thereby, Albucid 10% Eye Drops stops the growth of bacteria causing an eye infection.

Use Albucid 10% Eye Drops as prescribed by your doctor. Albucid 10% Eye Drops is for ophthalmic  (eye) use only. You are advised to use Albucid 10% Eye Drops for as long as your doctor has prescribed based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild burning, irritation, itching, stinging or redness of the eyes. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Sulfacetamide, any other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives, please inform your doctor. Albucid 10% Eye Drops should be used for children only if advised by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your doctor before using Albucid 10% Eye Drops. Drive only if your vision is clear as eye ointment may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using it.
