About Albunil Tablet

Albunil Tablet used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). Diabetic nephropathy is kidney damage resulting from diabetes. It is a major cause of kidney failure.

Albunil Tablet contains Taurine and Acetylcysteine. Taurine helps control disease progression in diabetic kidney disease. Acetylcysteine reduces the production of free radicals that cause tissue damage. Together, Albunil Tablet helps treat diabetic kidney disease.

The common side effects of Albunil Tablet are nausea, vomiting, and rash. These side effects are mild and temporary. However, consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight. • Keep out of sight and reach of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What if I have taken an overdose of Albunil Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Albunil Tablet as it may cause an overdose, leading to unpleasant side effects. If you suspect you have taken an overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

  • Do not take Albunil Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components.
  • Inform your doctor if you have decreased lung function (asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), stomach ulcers, or liver problems.
  • Albunil Tablet increases the risk of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome, characterised by severe skin rashes. Stop taking this medication and consult your doctor immediately if you notice skin rashes, ulcers in the mouth, throat, nose, or genitals, or conjunctivitis (pink eye), followed by flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, and body ache.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines, including supplements and herbal products.
