Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml

Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml is used to lower the intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Glaucoma is an eye disease that causes damage to the optic nerve and results in reduced vision. Ocular hypertension is increased pressure in the eye due to poor drainage of aqueous humour.

Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml contains Brimonidine tartrate and stabilised oxychloro complex. Brimonidine decreases the production of aqueous humour. Stabilised oxychloro complex acts as a preservative.

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as blurred vision, eye redness, discomfort, drowsiness and dry mouth. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml used in the treatment of Open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The detailed uses of Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml are as follows:

• Glaucoma Management: Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml helps to manage glaucoma by reducing eye pressure, thereby protecting vision, preventing optic nerve damage, and slowing disease progression.
• Ocular Hypertension: Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml lowers high eye pressure by decreasing fluid production and enhancing fluid outflow, helping to prevent the development of glaucoma.

• Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml is for ophthalmic (for eye) use only.
• It is recommended to apply one drop of Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml 3 times daily or as advised by your doctor.
• Check the label for directions before using this medication.
• Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Gently pull your lower eyelid with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
• Replace the cap tightly after each use.
• Avoid touching the container tip to the eye or eyelids to prevent contamination.
