Alvi Softgel Capsule is used to treat vaginal infections caused by bacteria (bacterial vaginosis), yeast infection (candidiasis) and parasitic infections (trichomoniasis). About Alvi Softgel Capsule

Alvi Softgel Capsule is used to treat vaginal infections caused by bacteria (bacterial vaginosis), yeast infection (candidiasis) and parasitic infections (trichomoniasis). Bacterial vaginosis is caused by the change in the normal balance of vaginal bacteria. Vaginal yeast infection or Candidiasis is the infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva). Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. Symptoms of a vaginal infection include itching, odour and abnormal heavy white discharge from the vagina.

Alvi Softgel Capsule comprises two medicines, namely: 'Clindamycin' (antibiotic) and 'Clotrimazole' (antifungal). Clindamycin belongs to the lincomycin antibiotic group that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which is required for the survival of the bacteria. As a result, it inhibits bacterial growth but does not kill them (bacteriostatic effect). On the other hand, Clotrimazole belongs to the imidazole antifungal group, which kills fungi by causing holes in their cell membrane, thereby leaking all content out. 

Use Alvi Softgel Capsule as suggested by your doctor. Common side effects of Alvi Softgel Capsule include a burning sensation, irritation and itching. The detailed uses of Alvi Softgel Capsule are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of Vaginal Infections: Alvi Softgel Capsule is widely used to alleviate symptoms of fungal infections and bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Candida species.<br/>• Relief from Itching and Irritation: Alvi Softgel Capsule help soothe discomfort, including itching, burning, and irritation associated with vaginal infections.<br/>• Restoring Vaginal Flora: Alvi Softgel Capsule aid in rebalancing the natural bacteria and fungi in the vaginal area, minimizing the likelihood of recurrent infections.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Alvi Softgel Capsule is for vaginal use only.• It is usually applied once daily at bedtime or as prescribed by your doctor.• Check the label for directions before using this medication.• Take the medicine and place it on the applicator. Lie relaxed on your back. Gently insert the applicator tip into the vagina and push the plunger to release the medicine into the vagina. • If you are inserting without an applicator, place Alvi Softgel Capsule on your clean finger and gently insert it into the vagina.• After use, remove the applicator and wash it thoroughly with warm, soapy water.
