Ambroxol-Tos Syrup consists of three medicines: Ambroxol, Guaifenesin and Salbutamol. Ambroxol is an 'expectorant' and a 'mucolytic agent'; it promotes the secretion of sputum/cough and is a 'mucolytic agent' that makes sputum less viscous to make breathing easier. Being an expectorant, Guaifenesin reduces the thickness or viscosity of bronchial secretions (phlegm) and increases mucus flow, making it easier to cough. Salbutamol belongs to the class of 'bronchodilators'. It widens and relaxes the airways (bronchi) of the lungs.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Ambroxol-Tos Syrup with proper consultation and caution. Avoid consuming alcohol with Ambroxol-Tos Syrup as it could lead to increased drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive if you feel sleepy or have an increased heart rate or shakiness after taking Ambroxol-Tos Syrup . Ambroxol-Tos Syrup is not recommended in children below two years of age.
