About Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's

Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections of the respiratory system (like pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and sinusitis), skin infections (like acne and rosacea), ear infections, and sexually transmitted infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's slow the growth or sometimes kill the harmful bacteria by preventing the production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival. Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.

Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's should only be taken if advised by your doctor.  It can be taken with or without food but should be consumed at a fixed time for the best results. Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's should not be consumed more than the recommended dose, to avoid unpleasant side effects. And also, the course should be completed even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic. Some common side effects of Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion. An allergic reaction such as rashes, itching, swelling, and shortness of breath can occur in rare cases. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). If you have diarrhoea without blood or mucus for more than four days, you should consult a doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's harm baby or passes into breast milk in pregnancy and breastfeeding state. It is better to contact a doctor before using Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.  Avoid too much exposure to sunlight as Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's can make your skin sensitive to sunburn. In this case, it is advisable to wear protective clothing or apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.

Directions for Use

If your doctor has prescribed the capsule form of Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's, you should take it at least 1 hour before food or 2 hours after eating with a glass of water. Tablets and liquid forms of Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's can be taken with a meal or empty stomach. Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's is available in liquid form especially for the children who have difficulty in swallowing.

Most of the side effects of Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. The most common side effect of Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's are diarrhoea, feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting), and stomach cramps, loss of appetite, bloating and indigestion. Very rarely, it can cause chest pain, skin rash, stomach pain, yellowing of skin/eyes, seizures (fits), dark urine, hallucination, ringing in the ear (tinnitus), imbalance disorder (vertigo). These side effects may be for a short interval of time, but if these persists speak with the doctor.

However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's harm the baby in pregnancy or not. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's. Do not take Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's if you are allergic to Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's or other macrolide antibiotics, using cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins like simvastatin, lovastatin etc.), anti-gout or anti-arthritis drugs (colchicine) and medicine for treating overactive bladder (tolterodine). Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's is not recommended for the patients with pneumonia who are judged to be inappropriate for oral therapy due to moderate to severe illness or risk factor.

  • Alcohol

    Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's should not be taken until prescribed if you are taking alcohol. Keep your doctor informed if you drink alcohol.

  • Pregnancy

Do not take antacids that contain aluminium or magnesium hydroxide within 2 hours before or after you take Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's. These antacids can interact with Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's and make them less effective when taken at the same time.

Never stop the treatment with Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's on your own as the infection may come back again (relapse) if the prescribed treatment is not completely taken. Before stopping Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's once discuss this with your doctor.

If you forget to take Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's, take your dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, just skip that dose and take the next one when it is due. If in doubt, please contact your doctor. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's contains lactose monohydrate so if you have intolerance towards sugars, consult your doctor before starting Aziresp 250mg Tablet 10's.
