About Azolin 1gm Injection

Azolin 1gm Injection is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia (lung infection) and infections of the reproductive organs. It is prescribed for treating severe infections when oral therapy is ineffective. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grow in the body and cause an infection.

Azolin 1gm Injection contains azithromycin, which slows the growth or sometimes kills the harmful bacteria by preventing the production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival. Azolin 1gm Injection does not treat a viral infection like the flu or a common cold.

Not everyone who receives Azolin 1gm Injection will experience these side effects. You may experience pain, itching, swelling or redness at the site of injection, stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, wind, dizziness, headache, and indigestion. Most of these side effects of Azolin 1gm Injection do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Please consult your doctor if these side effects become troublesome.

Azolin 1gm Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Do not stop receiving Azolin 1gm Injection even if you feel better. It is advised to complete the treatment course for better results.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Take probiotics after completing the full course of Azolin 1gm Injection to restore healthy bacteria in the intestine that may have been killed due to the use of antibiotics. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Certain fermented foods like yoghurt, cheese, sauerkraut and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
  • Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet, as it can be easily digested by gut bacteria which helps stimulate their growth. Whole grains like whole-grain bread, and brown rice, should be included in your diet.
  • Avoid taking too many calcium-enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Azolin 1gm Injection.
  • Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Azolin 1gm Injection as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid Azolin 1gm Injection in fighting off infections.
